Why have I compiled this information. First, because when the media, pundits, and citizens look at the annual data dump from the MDE, they compare the MCA-Proficiency rates, not realizing that different school districts have very different percentages of students in subgroups that have lower test proficiency rates. That creates the false impression that one school district is doing more poorly than another, even if that is not true. Sometimes advantaged students migrate out of districts with higher percentages of disadvantaged students because they wrongly believe that the lower district rates are a sign that advantaged students can't thrive there. So the tables below show that, despite what has been reported in the media, students without disadvantages that are statistically associated with reduced test scores are performing at the same rate as the state at large.
